Bring It!

This word frenzy has taken me draft after draft,
Thought after thought
Day after day
And tear after tear.

I have been thinking about how I wanted to poetically put into words my feelings since my blog in October called “A Little Bit about MUAH”.
And I thought I had it all ready to go full of pokes and pins in all the right places that were sure no leave no question as to who they were directed to.
Until I left it in Word as a draft for about 2 days.

My feelings have been pretty hurt since that post. But not just because of the one bad report that came from it.
I for one was ready to see 2012 walk out the door of my life.
Although there are so many many wonderful things that happened to me this last year, I am beyond ready for a year that doesn’t include waiting, wanting, wishing, hoping & and feeling lost.
And far too many lessons learned to count.
For a brief minute I thought about re-considering my career dream.
After a few different hair appointments ending with less than desirable outcomes (from more than one person.) I thought I might not cut out for the job.
But then Jeb, being the great husband he is, talked me through a few emotional spells and I have decided on a few solutions.
I am hoping to take a step back from doing hair and find a job that will pay me hourly so we can work on gaining some ground on another one of our goals.
I will also attend more than one hair show during this time to work on perfecting my craft.
Instead of letting other women hurt my feelings, put me and my ability down, and make me question my personal goals and dreams, I am going to ignore, put to good use, and quiet their voices in my head.
This year is for me.
Yes, this year I am going to make a conscious effort to become healthier.
FOR ME.
Not because anyone else thinks I need to.
I’m doing it because I want to.
I can tell you right now I am not going to be very good at it at first, but I will work through it and be better and better.
But 2013 is also a year for me to work on not caring what other people (women) think or say behind my back.
This year there is going to be more laughter and less tears
More enjoying and less worrying
More positive and less negative,
And my most favorite,
More muscle and less fat!
Here’s to 2012 and all the wonderful things that happened.
2013, I’m going to kick your ass!

Lookie Lookie Lemon Cookie!

So, I found my first “license required” job about a week ago. So far business is slow but today was the first day this ad ran in the local paper.

Other things:
We have yet to receive our professional pictures from the wedding but as soon as we do, I will be sure to post them for everyone to see!

We are quite moved into our little home and loving it! Our bed room is being painted this weekend so you can expect to see our casa soon! For now I’ll leave you with this little preview.

Jeb has been at a horse show since Monday, I can almost, almost, ALMOST say I’m taking it gracefully but I’m blaming slow business & I’m going to drive down to Pueblo this weekend to see my cowboy, sister & HER new digs, & make a trip to Sam’s. (Maybe a bit boring tmi but I’ve been braving the world on my own the last few days.)

A Week From Today....

A week from today, I will get up earlier than I normally would to shower, shave my legs & drowned my skin in some sort of moisture rich substance.
I will spend breakfast with 60 of our closest friends and family at a local restaurant
I will kiss my cowboy on his lips one last time as his fiancé.
My nails and toes will be painted & looking very fresh.
Two of my favorite girls from Cosmo School will be on their way to our little home town to make my girls and I look beautiful.
At this exact time, 10:00 am, I’ll be spending time with my girls.
Around noon, we will be pinning curlers in our hair, painting our faces with all kinds of rich colors.
My mom and Jeb’s mom will be scurrying around finishing last minute details.
I can only imagine what the BOYS will do with a day together, after a much to long absence from each other’s company.
My cousin will drive to a neighboring town to pick up flower s to be pinned on numerous “cowboy” shirts & dresses. She’ll also pick up the flowers my two best friends & sisters will carry as they walk down the aisle.
And, she will pick up my bouquet. The one I will hold until it is replaced with my cowboy’s hands.
I’ll slip into the dress my dear grandma spent hours and hours making just for me, and I’ll love it.
My girls will put their “grandma made” dresses too.
Then, we’ll all put on our cowboy boots!
Shalee will place my veil in my hair and spray everything one last time.
I’ll tell my mom how much I love her & we’ll wait for the photographer to tell us it’s time to take numerous pictures.
As our guests arrive I’ll wait upstairs of the beautiful Beckwith house & maybe sneak a peek or two.
The music will bellow from the speakers as my cowboy makes his way to the front with our pastor.
I’ll watch my girls’ link arms with each boy and walk down the aisle.
And I’ll look at my dad and try not to cry.
I’ll tell him how much I love him and take his arm.
I’m going to stare straight ahead at my cowboy.
Because, if I look anywhere else and see tears, streams will make their way to my chin.
When my dad and I get to the front, I’m going to hug him so tight and tell him “thank you”
And let a few tears slip.
Then I’m going to hand my sister my flowers and take Jeb’s hands.
Forever.
At the end of the day, after everyone had eaten their fill & then some,
After the cake is cut and gone,
after the DJ has played his set,
& the photographer has had his fill of pictures.
It will just me be me and my cowboy.
We will finally, finally be married.

June

Here some pictures I remembered to capture during the whirl wind two weeks I have had.

Loved it.

 Every second.

But I honestly don’t have interesting stories to go along with all of them,

I did get to spend some extra time with this hunk during the last two weeks.

Headbands for the flower girls in the wedding, not quite sure I like them though. They might be “misplaced” before that day comes a knockin.

Made, or “re-made” some jugs.

Politically correct, a pickle jar & a Ranch dressing jug.

One is for change, cuz this isn’t cutting it.

And the other is for all our “memories” ticket stubs, programs, most recently 3D glasses from Avengers

SAWOOON

I think that is enough for one month!

This next month is full of quick day trips to Greeley, for last minute fittings, showers & bachelorette parties.

Baseball games, Karly's State Convention in Pueblo, hair doos, cuts and colors

A little family reunion in Glenwood, a horse show, dog, chicken and house watching.

Getting my hair all ready for the big day and after June, there are only 7 days left until I will be a Stoltzfus.

BRING IT ON!!!

Oh the Places You'll Go

One of the best things about the careers that Jeb and I have both dreamed of is that there is not one state where either of us has to be.

OR continent

Jokingly Jeb and I have tossed around the idea of moving at least a few times before our future children are old enough to be in school.

There is NO WAY I am cut out to home-school & I (we) really want our kids to go to a school a lot like the one we went to. Maybe just a touch bigger, but still a small town school.

We also don’t want our kids to move from school to school after they have started, maybe once or twice but not every other year.

So, we play this game, sortof like would you rather, only with locations.

Florida or Northern California?

San Fran J or Ohio?

Mexico or Africa?

Alaska or the North Pole?

Okay so the last few are jokes

But what normally happens is, I am ready for some grand adventure outside of my native Colorado boarders and Jeb is ready to settle down, just down the road.

Don’t get me wrong I love Colorado, and if that’s what is best, I’d love to raise my kids here, but I’m a little ready to spread my wings.

Go on an adventure,

Live in a climate that only reaches 50 degrees F on a cold cold day.

Grow a palm tree, have a fresh fruit garden…

Obviously I am only thinking of warm places to liveJ.

I went to Alamosa this weekend to see my cowboy, and while we were riding horses at the end of the day in the bitter cold air he turns to me and says…

“What about New Zealand?”

Pretty sure he’s not kidding

The people in New Zealand are supposedly obsessed with American rodeo and horse shows, but no one knows what they are doing.

A friend from New Zealand is actually visiting Jeb’s boss and I guess has very entertaining stories to tell.

Jeb says he is making gobs of money running cow horse show, and isn’t close to a professional.

So what is Jeb’s plan?

To move to New Zealand to train rope horses and rodeo.

Me? I’m all for it. Not quite sure how the cosmetology industry is over there, but I’d be pretty stoaked to check it out!

I am just glad Jeb has no desire to sign a 2 year contract with a cattle ranch in Russia like his previous room-mate just did.

I’ve never been there, but I was told if I think Alamosa, Colorado is cold, I better pack another layer of clothes for Russia.

No Thanks!

I think I might like New Zealand though!
