'Round Here

We are super excited for spring around here! My first winter in Alamosa a.k.a. THE COLDEST SPOT IN THE US! Taught me some valuable lessons one of them being

1.        I refuse to take any part of the summer months for granted & I also PROMISE to never complain about the heat this summer.

We have a very busy schedule coming up, that includes almost every weekend until June away from our little house here in the valley.

So I decided to get a head start on the “spring cleaning” only to have it covered with a new coat of dirt from the crazy wind we have been having. Secretly I think it still counts because I DID put in the effort to get it done!
April has flown by, & I will be the first to admit that I don’t actually mind!
The faster summer gets here the better!

So to play a little “catch-up”

we spent Easter in Westcliffe with both of our families.
Jeb helped me dye hard-boiled eggs the week before and we spent the day shooting guns, eating yummy food & laughing.
It was such a great day to celebrate the Lord’s resurrection.
We also got to sneak in a little family time with my cousins. They had celebrated a special girl’s birthday Saturday morning and we got to see them before they headed back up to Greeley!

Trip has been to the Vet and decided he was not a fan. He had a body part or two removed, I was told that when Jeb went in to picked him up he ran past the vet-tech right over to Jeb peed, and then was ready to “hit the road Jack & we ain’t EVER comin back!”

I felt so bad for our little fella, but I am happy to report his is back to his normal crazy self!

Since it is warming up down here we have been leaving him in the pin next to our house while we are away at work! He seems to really like it & I think we will be investing in a plastic kiddie pool this summer for him to cool off in.

I can’t believe that this year I went home to beautify my youngest sister for her SENIOR PROM!

ANDDD
That the very same weekend, I helped my other sister celebrate her 21st birthday!

I am so lucky and so blessed to call those two girls my best friends
I love that I am only a short drive away from them and can be around for special events.

Lately my heart has been aching, like every other American, and hoping that there is still some hope for humanity.
I know that we live in a broken world and what we all need is Jesus, so I will faithfully keep putting my trust in him.
And I will treasure what I have to be thankful for because I am truly lucky to live the life I live.

May, will bring numerous trips to Westcliffe and a few up to the northern part of Colorado for a special graduation tea, a play, 2 graduations and other fun events.

I am going to welcome all these special times with a whole new outlook and appreciation, because you honestly NEVER KNOW. But I refuse to be a hermit because of the evil that haunts this world.
I am going to live this life because God has chosen me to live it!

Me, Myself, & Productive Wednesdays

Today is just one of those days

I decided to sleep in, and go clean the house I clean every Wednesday midmorning.

I woke up at 9:30 and had a cup of Joe, watched my new addiction (Pop Up Video on VH1) very relaxing.

At 10 I gathered the 7 care packages I finished and are ready to send out. (Who is crazy enough to make 9 care packages & send 7 of them?!? This girl.)

I put on a light jacket and headed outside.

Oh and by the way, it snowed sometime between when I hit the pillow last night and when I stepped outside.

I slightly remember my sister coming in my room in the morning asking for something and telling me that there was a light dusting on the ground.

If you have ever had wonderful pleasure of dealing with my charming self sometime before 10:00am you know I am noooo morning person & if I have any conversation with you I will remember bits and pieces if anything.

Anyways, my car has had some big time issues this last week, I’m pretty sure all month but since my car wasn’t looked at until FINALY this week by my cousins very mechanical husband he so kindly explained that my car was not drivable until it was fixed. So, I have been given “Princess” the car my sister and I drove in high school, and the car my other sister will drive the minute she gets her license any day now btw.

I started the car this morning blasted the heat and defrost and trudge through more than a “dusting” back to the house to get my packages.

When all was well inside my little car I braved the weather and headed to town. I was about 50 yards onto the highway when I spun out and ended up in the other lane headed back to my house.

That was it, I just headed back home. I thought to myself “oh I will accomplish so much from my cozy couch!”

So far?

More Pop-Up Videos

Coffee, Coffee, and Coffee

I can’t make more wedding jewelry because I ran out of clasps.

My beloved power cords for my cell phone and computer are at Gail’s house.

Oh and I gained 3 of the 4 pounds I lost back.

     I’m just a bit annoyed

The sinus headache that I have been fighting the last week is back.

And the wood stack inside is almost gone.

I better get movin’ cuz my computer battery is at a so sad 10%.

Good thing another NCIS marathon is on. I need my BFFS Abby & Gibbs today.

Negative Degrees Adventure

On Monday I woke to my room-mate whining in disgust, because it in fact, was snowing. "Mary, its snowing." She said as I sat up from my deep oh so wonderful slumber.  Which made me groan and want to pull my covers back over my head.

No only did it snow here, but it was freezing! We all were layering clothes on clothes, socks on socks and blankets on blankets, and snuggling together on our futon when, we were told we were being kicked out.  Good ol' Herbie ran out of hot water and there wasn't any heat.  Crazy right?!? Jeb had a brilliant plan to book a hotel room and cram all of our friends in so that we didn't have to spend a night on someone from another dorms floor, plus what a great adventure! We had lots of fun playing Wii Party, Just Dance and watching movies.  I am however, happy to "post" that the boiler was fixed Tuesday afternoon, and we spent Tuesday afternoon layering, snuggling, and watching movies.  By dinner time Herbie was pretty warm again! I did wait until Wednesday morning to shower, so I didn't have a chill the rest of the night.
